Founded in 1904, it’s safe to say a lot has changed since we began. Stalite Signs has been around through two world wars, the sinking of the Titanic, five different monarchs, the formation of the RAF and England lifting the World Cup.
William Bolt started the business with merely a paintbrush in his hands almost 120 years ago. Since then, the company has been passed down through generations of the Bolt family with the fifth generation currently at the helm. Whilst a lot has changed over the years, a lot has stayed the same. We’re proud to remain a family-run business, with family-oriented values. It’s the care, commitment and personal service we provide that is trusted by national corporations and local tradesmen alike.
Throughout our years, we have always maintained a strong desire to keep all our manufacturing processes in house. Now operating from within our purpose-built workshop in Exeter, our skilled staff and state of the art technology see your project through every stage of production until completion, ensuring the highest standards are met, whilst being able to offer quick turnaround times and competitive pricing. We have our own wide format printers, vinyl plotters, rotary engraving machines, laser cutters and CNC routers, with our own in-house metal fabrication department, powder coating facilities and vehicle wrapping bay. This has led to us undertaking work outside of the signage sector - producing pressings, bespoke guttering, architectural structures and much more. We love a challenge and are always willing to help where we can.

Our very low turnover of staff is a testament to our collaboration, pulling together to complete projects of all sizes. Our individual and complementary skill sets, with a combined experience of well over 200 years in the industry, makes us the perfect partner for your signage and graphics needs.
Stalite have always been very proud to give back and support the local communities in which we serve. We have a long-standing affiliation with Hospiscare, donating signage to advertise their fundraising events (many of which we participate in). We have also assisted many other charities such as Exeter Leukaemia Fund, Devon Air Ambulance and The Donkey Sanctuary to name a few.
