The Southgate Hotel contacted us to replace an old neon tube that had developed a fault. The decision was made to replace all the tubes with LED illumination. LED's are designed to last 100,000 hours - that is 11 years of continuous light or 22 years if on for 50% of the time. They are energy efficient and Ecologically friendly and even though LED's are low voltage, they are tremendously bright!
First we removed the existing built up letters from the side of the building and brought them back to the factory. We then removed all the old neon tubes.
Next we installed bright LED strips and tested them.
We then returned to the Hotel and refixed all the letters with new LED transformers back onto the side of the building. The new illumination is amazing. Jan Burkhart of The South Gate Hotel has since commented 'I am giving everyone sunglasses - it's brilliant!'
