We are a family run business and have been serving Exeter, Devon and the South West since 1904. From our factory we produce all aspects of modern day and traditional signage to suit your business needs. Among our portfolio we manufacture signs and fascias from a variety of sheet materials such as Aluminium, Acrylic, Foamex and Aluminium Composite creating flat or built up letters and graphics.
Produce internal and external sign systems for directories, way-finding and information boards.
Provide illumination from standard tubes in light boxes to LED and neon. As well as standard sign boards, health and safety signs, stickers and banners.
With our in-house CNC router, welding and fabrication, powder coating and engraving facilities alongside our vinyl and printing department we have the full scope of processes at our disposal to provide a complete range of quality signs and graphics to our Customers.
All our services are completely bespoke and we do not limit ourselves to signs. We work closely with other local businesses and fabricate a variety of items such as aluminium guttering, window pressings and troughs.

Nigel - Director & Golfer
Nigel has been the Director since 1991 and is the 4th generation of the Bolt family to be in charge of Stalite Signs. Nigel joined the company in 1989 and so has many years experience in all aspects of the business through design to manufacture and installation. Nigel is key in the efficient running of the business, putting his years of knowledge to use to provide competitive quotations, design ideas and advice to our customers.
Sandra — Office Manager & Pet Care
Sandra has been with the Company since 2011 providing the administration in the office. With many years previous experience in the trade Sandra is ready to answer your calls and take your orders.
Bruce - Engraving
Bruce is our longest serving member. Since 1976 he has been engraving and manufacturing a variety of signage in our factory. Bruce is a fountain of information and provides topical ditty’s all day long.
Brian — Installation Main Man
Brian has been with the Company since 1979 and as chief installer holds PASMA and Mobile Platform certificates. He is always full of cheer, offering service with a smile to all our customers requiring installation, repair or maintenance.
Stuart — Sign Fabrication, Welding & Painting/Powder Coating.
Stuart has been with the Company since 1988 and is our chief manufacturer. Stuart prefers the indoor life and his skills include welding, metal fabrication, spraying and powder coating. Stuart also becomes part of our fitting team during larger contracts.
Jim — Vinyl Graphics & Printing
Jim has been with the Company since 2000 and is our chief in charge of vinyl and printing. Whilst operating both vinyl cutting machines, Gerber edge and wide format printers, Jim also provides graphic assistance to our customers and has attained Vehicle Wrap training with AdWraps.
Scotty — CNC Routering & Vinyl
Scotty has been with the Company since 2000 and splits his time in the factory operating the CNC router, routering text and logos in a variety of materials and applying vinyl text and prints to sheet materials and vehicles. Scott also has attained Vehicle Wrap training with AdWraps.
Scott D — Fabricator & Welder
Scott D has been with the Company since 2011 and has previously worked within the industry. He works closely with Stuart in manufacturing, welding and powder coating and also becomes an additional fitter when required.
Chris — Trainee Director
Chris has been with the Company since 2012 and is the 5th generation of the Bolt family to join. Chris is currently learning all the processes in the business especially the mundane repetitive ones. If you need a couple of thousand shapes routered, Chris is your man!
Adam - Trainee Installations and Manufacturer
Adam is the newest member of the team joining this year (2015) and is working closely with Brian to learn the secrets of the sign trade.
The Office Dogs!
The office is kept in check by Nigel's 3 dogs, Jazz - 12 year old Springer Spaniel, Basil - 4 year old Miniature Dachshund and Nelly 1 year old Cocker Spaniel.
